Bars

  • 14 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1.75 cups Brown sugar
  • 0.25 cups White sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large Egg yolk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 orange Orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon Orange extract
  • 2.25 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.75 cup Craisins
  • 1 cup White chocolate chips

Frosting & Topping

  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 1.5 cups Powdered sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 0.5 teaspoon Orange extract
  • 0.66 cup Chopped craisins
  • 2 ounces White chocolate, melted

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8×11 or 9×13 pan with parchment and lightly grease it.
  • Stir the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together until glossy.
  • Add the softened cream cheese and egg yolk, mixing until smooth.
  • Mix in the eggs and vanilla until combined.
  • Whisk the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, orange zest, and orange extract in a separate bowl.
  • Add dry ingredients to wet and stir just until combined.
  • Fold in craisins and white chocolate chips, then spread into the pan.
  • Bake 25–30 minutes until edges are set and center looks soft.
  • Cool 10 minutes, then refrigerate for one hour.
  • For the frosting: beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and orange extract until smooth.
  • Spread frosting over fully cooled bars.
  • Sprinkle chopped craisins and drizzle melted white chocolate.
  • Slice, serve, and keep chilled.

Notes

Use chopped fresh cranberries for more tartness. Thin frosting with milk only if needed. Chilling helps bars slice neatly.
