Main Ingredients

  • 16 ounces white American cheese
  • ¼ cup milk you can add more if you prefer a thinner queso
  • 1 small can green chiles (drained) about 4 ounces
  • 1 pinch cumin
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro
  • ½ Roma tomato diced

Stove Top Instructions

  • Spray a large pot with non-stick spray.
  • Chop the cheese into cubes and add to the pot.
  • Add the spices, milk, and green chiles, then heat on medium-low.
  • Stir frequently until the cheese is melted and well combined.
  • Top with cilantro and diced tomatoes. Serve with tortilla chips.

Slow Cooker/Crockpot Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a small slow cooker. Cook on low for one hour, stirring frequently. Set to warm to keep for parties.

Notes

For a thinner queso, add more milk as desired. The slow cooker method is excellent for keeping the dip warm at parties.
